. . .- - -. . . Passwords - Ugh!

I hate it every time something requires one.
When I was a kid,
a password was only used to get into a secret club or fort -
as a secret code, not a daily battle with my memory.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when you type in your password,
certain you got it right,
and up pops the dreaded message:

"password and/or username does not match what is on file"

Grudgingly you create a new one-
using what you thought it was,
and now the message pops up:

"you cannot use a prior password"

Seems like a not-so-funny joke,
like my computer is mocking my struggle with passwords.

It reminds me of a joke I think one of my kids shared that I completely related to:

"If heaven requires a password?
I will meet you at the gate!"

Now, though,
I appreciate the importance of having your dating profile protected by a password, the ultimate secret club online.
Don't want anyone slipping in and changing or stealing your information.

However, it doesn't protect us from the "catfish", fake profiles out there.
