. . .- - -. . .👑💪🏼🫆'Am I dating your dad?"...looking for Mr WRight

Ok, my friend let's step back a moment and look at life through the perspective of our very first Hero!

"Our Dad!".

Now I hear your thought bubble, 💭😬
I'm not suggesting that Mom isn't our hero too!
She absolutely is.

But let's remember the topic is
about dating,
so we are shinning the spotlight on our dad,

or whomever the male role model was who first showed you the unconditional love and protection 🛡️🙂‍↔️

Think about it,
pull from the qualities of the male
hero in your heart,
the one who tried to guard your
heart as much as humanly
possible,
the one who tried to guard your
heart as much as humanly
possible,

the one that set the standards higher than we even realized at the time,
unknowingly he helped us build
the ideal blueprint for our
Mr WRight,
our blueprint for love. 💪🫆

When I think about my dad,
a few words that best describe him ;
honest, proud, kind, generous,
loyal, and big-hearted.

He wasn’t loud or showy, he was
the opposite .
He stood tall with a quiet pride,
not for himself, but for the people
he loved.

His steady silence provided the
strongest protection for my heart,
his presence alone made me feel
safe.

Without even realizing those
qualities left an imprint 🫆 on me,
I began to measure every man I
met against that standard.

Not in a way that I expect
perfection,
no one can be my dad,
but in the sense that  “he” could
embody a version of that honesty,
loyalty, and quiet strength.

Someone that my dad would hand
pick for me…..
then maybe “he” could be worthy
of the title Mr WRight.

I’ll fess up,
I am making a play on words,

Mr Right  and  Mr Wright.

We all know that the definition of
Mr Right is,

the ideal future husband”.

But this is extra symbolic to me
because from the day my dad took
his first breath,
he was already Mr Wright.
His name carried his title,
but his dad role carried the
example.

He not only fit the description—-
he truly lived it  in a way that
mattered most  to me.

I never really wanted to let go of
my maiden name…
I take comfort in knowing my birth
certificate will always carry it.

Sharing a name carries an impact,
….. traditionally, our children carry
on their father’s surname.

I always  knew that if I was to ever
have a daughter,
that she may set aside her maiden
name to carry her future
husband’s….

But why is it that we as  girls are
expected to change our
names?……. 🤔

That never sat quite right with me,
💭Put it in your bubble, this is how
I feel, you don’t have to agree💭

I gave my 3 girls my middle name.
I wanted to pass down a name to
my girls.

One that would always connect
them to me, and to each other.
Forever on our birth certificates,
legacy of love.

I didn’t have the opportunity to do
this for my son,
though my younger girls grew up
thinking he had the same middle
name.

He was never exactly amused
when they used it,
but It brought a smile to my face
that they recognized the sibling
link between them.

Though Wright would have made
a strong middle name for him as
well.

So what does it all matter when it
comes to dating?  🤨🤔
For me, it’s about reflection,—-
where we came from,
what we’ve experienced,
and who we’ve become along the
way.

I think it’s important to pause and
reevaluate what truly matters to
us.

It doesn’t matter how many
relationships we’ve had in the pas
——
what matters is that we take all,
those experiences, stir them all
together and savor what’s ahead
in the next chapter.

Seasoned with time, now rich in
experience

🗯️now that I am rich in flavor😂🗯️
My experience has made me so 🤑 rich!
